About

Rachel decided to be an actress at age five, after seeing Annie in theaters. That’s right, not a writer. An actress. Aileen Quinn made it look good. She also made being an orphan look pretty good, which is why Rachel tried to run away. Fortunately, her brother locked the gate, thwarting her plans. Life thwarted her other plans. She took theater seriously, even majored in it, but it wasn’t meant to be.

She wrote her first book (Carousel) when she was twelve, a tale of a girl who traveled to magical worlds. Then the manuscript got lost, and devastated, Rachel putting writing aside until one day in her twenties, when she told her husband about the story and he urged her to write it again. Carousel has been rewritten a dozen times since then, each time helping Rachel to dig deeper into her own struggles. Now it’s time to share the story.
